Membership Growth

Welcome, new members Gail Cook, Jim and Alexa Schlimmer, and Georgann and Chip Simmons!

“Just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.  For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body –Jews or Greeks, slaves or free– and we were all made to drink of one Spirit . . . . If one member suffers, all suffer together with it; if one member is honored, all rejoice together with it. Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.”   ~~ 1 Corinthians 12: 12-13, 26-27.

Through the preaching of the word,  observance of the sacraments, fellowship, prayer, and thanksgiving, God adds to our number.  We thank God for the gifted, talented, and compassionate people God sends to carry out the ministry of Christ.  We add to our number through baptism, affirmation or reaffirmation of faith, or letter of transfer from another congregation.

Our Membership Growth team actively seeks and pursues ways to increase our numbers as well as our vitality. The team plans and invites members to participate in special events including picnics, the annual ice cream social, Back to Church Sunday, and seasonal congregational meals. They make contact with former members, new members, and those who attend irregularly. This team also collaborates with Mission Outreach and the Worship Committee to plan special worship services and community mission projects, and is active in the implementation of new technology.
